We do remove warts from Knees / Hands / Fingers using local anaesthetic and a surgical laser. There is a chance of recurrence with this method due to the nature of the viral aspect of the wart, however, generally the success rate is good. There is the option of surgically excising the wart and placing stitches, this offers a better total resolution rate, but if the wart is over a highly
mobile area, there is a high risk of the stitches failing, which may result in a larger scar and complications in healing. This would not be my preferred option for anyone, particularly for children, as they are often less compliant with restricting activity during the healing period.

Following laser removal, the aftercare is similar to managing a significant graze: the area should be kept clean and covered until it dries out and a scab forms. Dressings would need to be changed daily, and swimming should be avoided for approximately one week after the procedure. If you have water based activities planned, it may therefore be better to schedule the treatment afterwards.

If the patient decides against the injection at the appointment, we would be unable to proceed with the treatment, and the deposit would be non-refundable in that situation. For clarity, the deposit is refundable up to 48 hours before the appointment and the appointment can be rescheduled up to 24 hours beforehand without charge.
